American dream - New York

Image
Hello, everybody, Now that I have finished with my Italy trip, let's look at what happened last year. Well, last year I went to USA for the first time and it was quite an experience, that is for sure. I flew from Bucharest to New York, landing on JFK after a 12 hours flight. Unfortunately, there is no direct flight from Bucharest and we chose Air Serbia, meaning that we first stopped in Belgrade and from there straight to NY. I haven't flown with them before, but it was quite a good flight. I would fly with them again for sure. Not to mention the price which was a bargain, comparing with other rates - 500 Euros back and forth. After landing, I stayed at a friend's house in a small city near Atlantic City, called Egg Harbour. I will tell you about that in another post. In NY we stayed for 3 days and we went there by bus from Atlantic city - the ride there takes like 2 hours and a half. NY is a lovely city, but for some reason I did not feel safe, although all w

Italy trip - Rome

Hello, everybody, Today I am sharing my thoughts on Rome, the last stop on our trip to Italy.  By train from Florence it takes like 2 hours to get to Rome and the train ride was very smooth. In the beginning I thought Rome might be too crowdy and commercial for my taste, but despite the crowdiness, I can honestly say I liked this city very much. It is like walking on history itself and we really walked - in one of the 3 days we stayed there, we walked 23 km :) Accomodation : We stayed in a hotel which was both close to the train station and the city center - Hotel Miami . I recommend the hotel: it was clean, the bed was comfy, air conditioning was brand new. The room itself and the bathroom were not that big, but we managed :) The only thing that might bother you could be the noise of the street, if you have a room with street view. Right across the hotel there is a bar with outside terrace and they have live music. I guess if you are tired, you will sleep anyhow :)
