Italy trip - Boccadasse


Hello, everybody,


Although I said that today I will present Florence, I have changed my mind and I will present Boccadasse instead.
We visited this little fisher village on our last day in Genova, just before departing for Florence.

We didn't know about this place, but just browsing after things you can do while in Genova, we found out about this little hidden gem.

It is very similar to the villages in Cinque Terre if you look at the colourful houses and the small rocky beach they have. There are not many things you can do there, but if you don't have time to visit Cinque Terre for example, you can just feel the same vibe here.

From Genova city center we went on foot. It took like an hour and it was not very easy, because it was kinda hot.
There is also a bus that has a stop right there and we used it when we returned to the hotel in Genova.

We didn't eat there, we just took an ice-cream, but there were some local places that were looking good.
If you go on foot, at a certain point, you will walk near the water, as you can see in the first picture below and it is very nice.

Hello, everybody, So, let me tell you what happened after San Francisco.  Next stop was Carmel by the sea, lovely little town down the coast where we stayed for 2 nights. Looking back, I wish I stayed more there, because it was an amazing place to be. It was very quiet, the architecture of the houses was just like in fairytales and the beach was very close.  Let's start from the beginning though :) - we had an adeventure with the rental car. We made an online reservation with Hertz and when we arrived there, they did not like the fact that the credit card was in my name and I wasn't the driver.  My husband does not have a credit card, he has only a Revolut card which did not work and a debit card which, thank God, worked (although, usually debit cards are tricky). Italy trip - Genova

Hello, everybody, And welcome to my very first travel post.  I don't know exactly how to start, but I will give it a shot and start with the beggining :) So, this summer we decided to go to Italy and I planned everything and I am happy to report that I did a great job :) The plan was as follows: Genova Portofino Cinque Terre Florence Tuscany Rome First of all, I did not manage to find a decent direct flight from Bucharest to Genova, which kinda sucks. But we had a very quick connection from Rome to Genova, immediately after we landed at Fiumicino airport.   Why Genova? well, the city is very nice and it was the best option for accomodation and close to Portofino and Cinque Terre by train.  So, we stayed in Genova for 4 nights and we had one day trips to Portofino and Cinque Terre.  In a future post I will give more details about Porto and Cinque Terre, but today let's talk about Genova. Italy trip - Cinque Terre

Hello, everybody, Today we talk about amazing Cinque Terre :) - also a one day trip, having the starting point in Genova where we stayed. The train ride from Genova to La Spezia Centrale was around 1 hour and a half and again I recommend to leave very early in the morning. From La Spezia Centrale you have to buy a Cinque Terre pass (around 35 Euros / person) and this pass allows you to go around the 5 villages (Riomaggiore - Manarola - Corniglia - Vernazza - Monterosso) all day long by train. And the train comes and goes twice per hour. The only place we did not visit was Corniglia - it was very hot and climbing up (382 steps) to get there was out of the question. I heard that there is also a bus (to quote wikipedia " sometime a small bus runs") - but maybe next time :) Again I do not recommend to stay in Cinque Terre - very pricey and there are not a lot of things you can do, except walking around with hundreds of other tourists :) and get some tan on very sma
