Italy trip - Toscana

Hello, everybody, Today I am gonna share with you a few lovely tips from amazing Toscana. It was for sure quite an experience that you should definitely try if you are in Florence area. At first we were looking for a one day trip organized for larger groups, but in the end we gave up on the idea and finally we decided to rent a car for one day. If you go on your own it is much easier for sure and you can do whatever you want. I really wanted to try an old Fiat 500 :), but thinking I wouldn't like to be boiled in my own blood :), in the end we rented a new Fiat with air conditioning. The site we used was Europecar.com and it was a very good experience. They didn't try to scam us or anything. We left very early in the morning from Florence city center and came back around 11 PM at night - all in all we travelled like 400 km :) The areas we visited were as follows: San Gimignano Chianti Siena Val d'Orcia La Foce In San Gimignano there are a few parking lots...

Italy trip - Florence

Hello, everybody, Despite the hundreds of thousands of tourists, Florence is simply amazing. I would not recommend to visit in August like I did, because August is probably the crowdiest month. Anyhow, we got to Florence from Genova by train (around 3 hours). There is no direct connection - we had a stop in Pisa Centrale and from there, in less than 10 minutes ,we took the second train. All in all, we had quite a good experience with the trains in Italy. They have air conditioning, they are not very dirty and no shady people on board. Accomodation: We stayed in a lovely hotel ( Astrid Hotel ) near the train station and very close to the city center (10 minutes max on foot). I would stay there again, if I ever go back and for sure I will go back at a certain point :). Florence deserves a second and a third visit :) The hotel is part of an old building and the rooms are huge, very tall and also the bathroom is very big.
